I live in the woodlands where fire is a real danger (Diablo 3 Gold). The property next to mine is an acre with no structures. By law I am required to maintain the brush, grass and trees on my property to stop a fire and make my home defensible. This "neighbor" does nothing and his property is packed solid with brush, trees, grass.
By law I am required to maintain up to my property line. The problem is that that line is about 40 feet from his unmaintained pile of brush and fuel.
What can I do legally to get him to maintain this property? I would do it but we're talking thousands of dollars to get it trimmed, and hundreds per year to maintain it.
If there is a fire, and he is determined to not be in compliance, does he share some responsibility if it spreads to my home?
